Memorable Munich

This is for my trip to Munich, Germany.

Trip where floral seem to miss their blooms...
Then again.. It was a trip not to be forgotten.

Met soooooo many gorgeous peeps with pure awesomeness in their blood =)

Trip started off with a train ride and walk through town
(Where we lost a few of the bunch)

Followed by dinner @ this German Pork Knuckle joint.. Which we majorly anti-crave after having it.. haha.. like ever

Next time it'll be like "German pork knuckle?" NOoooo!!!!

Fucking suuper uber fuuber tough!
It was like a major sword fight (Us Vs Pork knuckles) before anyone got through the skin and to the meat...
Kudos to Adam who knew NOT to order knuckle...

Outside the restaurant and so hungry, EVERYONE with a camera started snapping pictures of them knuckles on the rotary BBQ... kuku

Super Xite BEFORE I started the knuckle duel. Side note, they were SO FREAKIN' GIANORMOUS.. we only had half a knuckle each..

The side feature was somecabbage salad which tasted much like a milder version of sauerkraut, they were awesome.. I cleared my bowl =P **YUM**

Anyways, after that, we decided to head back to town for some shopping before everything closed for the day (Which was like freakin' 6pm by the way) Lazy buggies...

During which, Jason and I were so busy annoying each other, we got stranded...
And on the way to the Swarovski Store, we found some gorgeousness and tried some things.. New...

Like this "GluWein". It's basically warmed red wine.. which tasted.. well.. like red wine but smoother in my opinion. Not my thing at all

While we were struggling to finish our cup of GluWein, some other peeps were having GluWein with a cube of sugar on the side and while the sugar burnt, rum is slowly added for more heat.. Woah... Jason BLUSHED after just one sip... Hahhahaaa..

Finishing half the cup of GluWein, we headed further for a cuppa GOOd ol' Hot Schocolatte.. AWESOME!!! But so freakin' ex can.. The cup I'm holding in my FB profile pic (Amsterdam) costs Euro1.5 And this one in the cutesey cup like Euro3 can... piangs...

During our stranded-ness, we also found a whole bunch of X'mas trees for sale! Damn cool can..
and really, for the first time in my Quart of a century life-span, Fresh Misoltoe!!!

Found the Swarovski shop where I bought a pen for Christmas exchange.. which lucky lady will get it? Hmmm.. ;)

We stood outside the clock tower which was totally awesome and grand looking and with my feet in the snow, we listened to people carol with the rest of the crowd.. totally Christmassie can...

After which, we found the rest, and we headed back to the hotel, the same way we came...

Day 2,

After much contemplation, and determination, we planned a visit to the Dachau Concentration Camp.

Eye opener this one...

I was never much of a history kid and if I could, I'd sleep through history lessons during my secondary school time.. But this one.. Hitler is seriously a SS-Man (Sick-Smart man)
The things the soldiers and doctors did to the people (Jewish) in this camp.. Scary...

A few of us paid Euro 3.5 for an Audio Guide and here's us being touristy with our guides...

Here's the entrance to the camp... imagine the thousands who lost their freedom, some their lives upon entrance through this gate...

If you can (Please use your imagination) between every black line in this picture is a long house, each one divided into rooms, like the one in the next pictuure and in every one of them lived thousands of people who had to "Work for freedom" Absolutely untrue...

There was long house no. 9? I think.. Which was a brothel for the peeps, so they would "re-produce" GAWD.....

Roll call area.. Imagine standing here in the middle of winter with nothing more than your PJs on

Walking pass the long houses and along the fence and watch towers that guarded the area

Between the road we were on and the fence that stretched all around the site was a ditch approx 2m wide and once you crossed the prohibited zone, you'd be shot. Some prisoners would run into the border strip on purpose to put an end to their suffering...

Crossing the bridge over running water, we came to the "Krematorium" which was used to store and eventually rid of dead bodies of prisoners.

Here, we also saw the gas chamber of which many lives were put to an end without them even realizing...

Okay, more on the Gas Chamber. As they did not want to go through the hassle of having to force prisoners into the gas chamber due to fear of death, the prisoners would have been informed that they'll be taken to a room to be "Showered", hence the "Shower Room", a room with shower heads built into the ceiling (Visually tricking the prisoners) and openings in the wall, where the soldiers would drop the toxic gas from the outside of the buiding, killing everyone in the room, quietly, easily.
Smart right?! In the video, you'd realise that there is a waiting room next to the "Shower room" where other prisoners would wait to enter... Imagine standing there, thinking you're going for a shower... =(

AFter the trip to the "Krematorium", we strolled back to the gallery where we had a visual and audio tour to round up our trip there...

Imagine hundreds of men living in these matchbox sized beds.. it became so overcrowded just before liberation of the camp that men were found literally sleeping on top of one another...

Going into Dachau in the middle of winter made it gloomy.. really gloomy... And it made me wonder.. how can one man find a place in his heart to do all that they've done to another?
Doctors would use healthy young men for their experiments, hoping to achieve breakthrough on medical grounds..

We watched videos made during that time, of bodies piled up, naked, striped of every last dignity, waiting to be cremated only cause they had no place else to dispose them.

History wowed me today and I hope that through my eyes and Iphone 4 lens, you too got a taste of what got us here today...
The liberty we each hold today, thanks to the people that suffered to path the way.

4.5 years of gorgeousness

It's Saturday, the 28th of August and it marks my final teaching day for my CSTD grrls.
The faces I see weekly for the past 4.5 years.
The little faces that made me smile whenever I had a bad day...
The spirits that kept mine up.

I would like to thank all of you for making this such a magical journey for me. I'm 25 and I have achieved so much within the past 4.5 years with your help.

My Tribe:

You ladies are always the top of my list, we train hard, the tears, the pain you grrls are willing to go through, just to meet expectations that I've set, expectations (as some of you have mentioned) seemed almost impossible to meet. Thank you for believing in me and giving me the chance to lead our tribe. You grrls have rawked my world harder than anyone else in my short 25 years.

My 'babies':

You grrls were such tiny people when we first met, the confused look in your eyes when I first walked into the dance studio will forever stay vivid. Now all grown up and leaving my arms... I have learnt so much and became a far better person then I'll ever be just teaching you grrls. I have learnt to be patient, to think young, and teaching you has taught me that it is absolutely okay to make mistakes as long as you learn well from them. And mummies and daddies who have taken their time off weekly to send you here and fetch you back and on many occasions, made me gorgeous meals to pull through my long Saturdays.

I am glad that you could see past my identity as your ballet teacher and gave me peeks into your personal thoughts/ lives, especially proud, knowing that I have created a safe haven for you to run to whenever things didn't go too well in school, with friends or with family. And I am honored that you would confide in me, allowed me to hold your hand and give you hugs whenever you needed any.

All in all, THANK YOU... I cannot find better words as my eyes are blurred out of absolute vision reading through the words you grrls have left me with. I could not have asked for a better bunch of kids, thank you for making me a good teacher and an even better human being. I am no longer your ballet teacher but as promised, I will always be a phonecall. text message/ FB away.

Gorgeousness in 3s!!!

3 fun-filled days!!

Day 1:

Thursday, windy clouds with streaks of sunshine =)

Went out to PIXAR @ Science Centre with Mr Joo. FUN!! Seen quite abit of behind the scenes for a few of my favorite Cartoons =)

What fascinated me the most was the Zoetrope, where they have 3-D figurines of the characters in motion, lined up on a round board, spinning at one round per second and with the help of synchronizing strobe lights, tricks the human eye into thinking the characters are actually moving around the board!! SUPER COOL!

Okay, I know, yo uhave no idea how to place all of that into your brain and churn up an imaginative video of your own, thoughtful me has done that for you via magical Youtube. (try to finish this video as it strobe light stops towards the end to show you the spinning board which eventually stops, showing the characters in the different position!)

Nice right?? Now, please go see it! The exhibition ends 27th June!! 7 more days!!
20 Years of animation, PIXAR @ Science Centre

We were so fascinated and inspired by PIXAR, we both came to the conclusion that we had to catch Toy Story 3 in 3-D of course. We headed to Marina Square, where I caught a Yoshi Plushie for Mr Joo with 4bucks!! Suuuper happy and proud =D
Then came movie time, cuddling Yoshi and our popcorn, we marched into the theater and awaited this sequel to yet another famous
"This movie was what 3-D was made for" hype.

BUT!! It was really the story line that left us with a strong lingering aftertaste of warmth and happiness when we left the theatre.
I even said to Mr Joo that if this was the last of the Toy Story sequels, then it was THE perfect ending for a decade old cartoon. In real, compare this to Shrek 3, I'd watch this a milllion times over!

Day ended with a good ol' dinner @ boon Tong Kee, it was pretty late hence we had to hike down to the Balestier Branch.

Day 2:

Mr Joo had to work, I met up with Miss Ting Chow to go shopping @ City Plaza, where, very gladly, I found this skirt I've been eyeing from one of the blogshops and got it at a FRACTION of the price!!

Think Blogshop = 1 for SGD26
City Plaza = 1 for SGD 20, 3 for SGD10 each!!

Woooh... what a diff.!!
But I was lucky cause Miss Ting Chow liked the design as well and we thought perhaps Miss Goh'll like it, hence we bought it at wholesale price of SGD10.
Like super cheap can!?!? Imagine how much the Blogshop owners are earning!!
Then again, to ensure you'll get what you want at the lowest possible price, you MUST head down to City Plaza ONLY when you gather a bunch of grrlies who has similar dress sense.
(And wouldn't mind ending up with a quarter of their wardrobe similar to yours.. Haha)

BUT!!! Looking at the prices above, even if I bought just the one piece, it'll still be 6 bucks cheaper than purchasing it online, I'm happy =)

Went City Square JB with Mr Joo and I tried Kim Gary restaurant for the 1st time.
Since I've heard sooo many good reviews on that place, and Mr Joo has been more than excited to have me try their food, I went, tasted and still, would much much prefer my long time favourite

Btw, you can dine at both Hong Kong eateries at a fraction of what you'd pay in their Singapore Branch if you travel up to JB, City Square. It's almost 3 in the morning and I'm looking for BB Creams. Utterly confused I tell ya...
Think I might give in and purchase Skinfood and I CANNOT, absolutely no no when it comes to cakey looking face. Sometimes I wonder how much of a woman I really am, I know nothing about makeup and many other feminine subjects.

Mr Joo and I went to JB for day and that confirmed it further. We walked into Face Shop, attempted to look for some masks for Kaori and within minutes of entering the shop, he had to go visit the loo. Sure nuff, within just seconds of him leaving my side, I waddled out of the shop, standing around, staring at an empty shop space right opposite The Face Shop. And when asked why I didn't stay to do some looky looky, I replied: " I'm so intimidated and uncomfortable, I'd rather you put me in a boy's shop." Hahaa.. those gorgeously painted bottles and packages on the shelves were plain OVERwhelming for me. Scary scary.

Buttt!!! I will still get my BB Cream (online of course) and shall blog about it, as a Tan Singapore female. Haha...

Wow, been 3 days since I last Tweet or blogged.

Hockay! Shall start with the swissroll thingy...

1st, get yourself a slice of your fav-flav swissroll from any local bakery =)
My mumm dear bought Pandan the night before.. muurhhhh..

Ny-ways, personally I get super Jelat after just a couple of bites thanks to the thick cream between the rollie.

THE way to get rid of the jelatness, is to take your rollie home and pop it in a plastic bag (or you can cling foil cover it in a bowl) this is to prevent your fridge from sucking out all the moisture from the sponge.

Now the hardest part... WAIT.....

NOT YET...

A couple of hours later (even though usually I can't be too bothered, I'd leave it overnight)

The cream hardens!!! YAY!! Weee!! Woohoo!!!
Time to go NOM NOM on the fella!!!

Blogging while waiting for my 6pm class to start.

A couple of nights ago,
I finally got to talk (Heart to heart about the frustrating truth) to my Butt about my work, my life as a whole and how frustrated I am right now with all the decisions I've made along the way these past 3 years.

She understands me, at least I believe she did...
Although she knew nothing about dance and how certain things should and shouldn't be done,
but I am glad that finally, someone who understands who I really am, who I was, the amount of changes I've made to get to where I am today is listening in and feeling some of my pain.

For the first time in my life, I cannot truely speak up, I cannot really be me.

But that morning, I got it all out.
And although that doesn't solve anything, neither does it make me a happier person, but you know how you tell someone the full story and the negativity of it all, it seems to transfer the pain and the guilt you feel towards bullying yourself so badly to the listener, together with the unhappy thoughts.

I'm so glad I have her.
So glad.

CNY this year was as per normal, Eve and 1st day were at my place, as Ah Ma's living with us, thus everyone comes yearly to visit, so pardon the underdress-ness and enjoy the pictures.The fondue, we all looove laaa, it has become a tradition for the Chua Family since 2007.

2nd Day this year was a bit bit different, ended up not going to my maternal side to visit as it was told by a Feng Shui person that the 2nd day of the Lunar New Year this year was not a good Date on the Chinese calendar. Thus, visiting of my maternal side was shifted to Day 3.

Day 2 was left for Bei's family and I wore my Black/White ColourBlock Dress bought from http://theblogshop.sg/index.php/2010/01/30/welcome-to-theblogshop, forgot which blogshop it's from but yeah.... It fitted gorgeous and although was a bodycon (at least it was for me), it was comfy and super livable when worn.

Bei was SUPER sweeet, he got me A baby bouquet of Sunflower & sides plus a heart shaped cookie as a post V'Day surprise =) He's become a romantis I tell ya.. =)

All was well there, went to his Aunt's place, most peeps were there and there was MahJong and after some food and drinks, the gambling circle formed and it all rolled off from there =)

Day 3 came and I was all Xite Xite bout it cause I get to wear my Cheong Sam!!! Yayy!!!! It's from Bonitochico, another Blogshop. Bought the Medium, which turned out to be SUPER Oversized for me. =( Sad cause I had to have it altered. =) Happy cause it meant that I'd fit fine in a Small!!! WOohoo!!! Bei's mummy lovingly did the alterations for me and it fit gorgeous after. Was super worried cause menses came on the CNY eve... WHat luck right.. but then, by the 3rd day, the bloaty me had left and my bodd was back to normal, HAPPINESS!!!

After Maternal Ohana visiting was to De Liang's place. THey started early, Bei and I were late, had a bit of steamboat then came the Gambling Den AhhhGain!! This time i joined in and really, my new passion's giving out cards, super fun can. Played In-Between, new game for me, but it did earn me abit more Ang Pao mooolah, happiness!!

Today was a tad special,
Bei didn't have to work, so we woke up, he drove almost like a mad-hungry-boy to PS to have our breakfast at LongJohns... Hmmm.. I must say, the breakfast quality can really differ from branch to branch, depending on the flow and the fella in the kitchen.

The last time I had their Big Fish Sandwich (Bishan branch), it was gorgeous, FAT FAT fish, warm toasted bread and most importantly, it was HOT =)
But today, the bread was overdue, really.. hahaa.. it tasted like it (try making yourself some french toast and leave it for a couple of hours before tucking in) It tasted majorly of oil... Blahhh...!
Then the BIG fish.. seriously, was excitingly SMALL... Sad can... Bei's Turkey Bacon wich wasn't all that marvelous as well.

Okay, skip that blah.

Next up, SHOPPING =D

Went on a super long intensive walkabout with my CheongSam in the bag, sooo determined to find me some shoes to go with... but noooo... I was getting tired and useless.

Then, the most 'exciting' thing happened!!!
I had to go to work!! hahahaa...
Yup, work was as usual at RGPS.

After 1.5hours of intensive money earning,
Bei picked me up at 4.30pm and guess what, we went back to town for more intensive look-about!
Headed to Bugis this time and had dinner at that Hong Kong Restaurant I had blogged about in December. Loove the food there can, and everytime we introduced friends to that place, they'd run back there on their own cause no one can have enough of the wide wide variety of good food on their menu.

Just when we were about to leave, saw De Liang and Li Jiao walk in, Bei did his usual call my friend prank, got that over with, short chat and we left.

Walked all over Bugis, Suntec, then to Marina Square, like super hardworking can. Finally found a pair of heels that'll go with my CheongSam. And I had to put my foot down as I couldn't decide on anything after trying past a dozen pairs. These shoes I picked are NOT ME at all.. But they really do go well with the CheongSam, so cannot complain. Zip!!

Yes yes, many of you should've already smelt, heard and felt the news of the opening of a Victoria's Secret boutique right here in Singapore!! Wooohooo!! Okay laaa.. Not really super right HERE.. but close nuff, Sentosa IR =)

but lookout people, a couple of my friends and I were having an absolutely HEATED up convo about the new place that will open tomorrow and we came to a conclusion, that:

YES:
1)Items will be easily accessible, now that there's a physical shop here.
2)There might be limited edition stuff that are available instore only, (just like the US shops).

But butt buttt!!
NO:
1)Things will NOT be cheaper than what we can find online ( entry into that bloody island's already a cute bomb at popular time frames)
2)The shop might be super Asianised (which is = bloody cheapo feeling)
3)Stock might be super limited.... compared to the US shops and site itself..

We still super look forward to it though, my sis-in-law's already excited just thinking about it.
I'm madness hype bout it.
Any hotter, we might just get our own personal tour together and conquer the limited half opened IR and that shop =)
